Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how soreviak collects, uses and protects the personal information of users in connection with our broadcasting and media services. soreviak processes personal information as a responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

We collect personal information such as your name, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number when you give it to us. We may also collect usage data and content preferences, including the language in which you prefer to listen or view.

How we use it

We use the information to provide and improve our broadcasting services, to personalise content, to send you updates you have asked for, and to meet our legal obligations. Processing is limited to what those purposes require and rests on your consent or on the performance of a contract, as set out in section 11 of POPIA.

Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers, acting as operators under POPIA, who assist us with our operations, always under written confidentiality obligations. Where information is transferred outside South Africa, we do so only on a basis permitted by section 72 of POPIA.

Your rights

Under sections 23, 24 and 25 of POPIA you have the right to be told what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact our Information Officer at [email protected] or on +27 11 482 6390.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration or destruction, and we will notify you and the Information Regulator of a security compromise as section 22 of POPIA requires.

Retention of information

We keep personal information only for as long as the purposes described here require, unless the law obliges us to keep it longer.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on our website.
